Experienced health insurance executive who champions data driven decision-making
Whether it is designing health benefits packages, acquiring a new company, or negotiating compensation packages, John Frissora relies on data to make financially prudent decisions. John is currently putting his diverse management, finance, and sales experience to work as President at Frissora & Associates.
John previously served as Vice President at Hubbard-Bert, where he directed the self-insurance service line. John also served as Senior Vice President, Pennsylvania Markets for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. He led new business and sales efforts for the 47 county, 180 employee Sales and Producer Relations Division, representing 13,500 customers, 1.9 million members, and $8 billion in premiums. Earlier in his Highmark tenure, John spearheaded the company’s first venture into the life insurance industry.
From 2003-2006, John was responsible for the overall funding of a 75,000-member self-insured book of business at a large regional consulting firm. He managed the Employee Benefits Division, calculating and monitoring appropriate funding for the overall ASO business, relying on financial, benefit analysis and utilization review reports to make data driven decisions. John was also CFO for UPMC Community Medicine, Inc., overseeing 1,600 employees and 350 primary care and multi-specialty physician practices.
John holds a BSBA in Accounting from Robert Morris University.
